Ideas we collected from Ahsan Shameem
Logistics is more than just driving trucks. Shameem explains that many people think logistics only means moving things by bus or courier. But it is actually a huge system. It includes storing items safely in warehouses, sorting them, tracking exactly where they are, and properly handling items that customers return. The real work happens behind the scenes.
Technology makes everything work smoothly. Big global companies use smart computers, barcode scanners, and automated hubs to track packages perfectly from start to finish. Shameem points out that Bangladesh is still far behind because the industry does not use enough of this digital technology to keep the exact location of packages updated.
Taking care of a few good customers is better than having too many. Instead of trying to get hundreds of buyers, Shameem believes it is better to focus on a small number of good ones. By checking on them regularly and making sure their problems are solved, a business can build deep trust and get much bigger orders over time.
Every package must be treated like a baby. Many delivery workers carelessly throw boxes or handle them roughly. Shameem learned that a package should be held safely and with high respect, just like a baby. Knowing exactly how to handle different items is very important to stop them from getting ruined or broken.
Starting small opens big doors. Even if a job pays very little money or seems too simple, Shameem says you should still take it to gain experience. Hard work — like starting with a tiny salary or walking up stairs to hand out papers — teaches you important skills and naturally helps you find much better chances in the future.
Professional behavior means keeping rules and being honest. In top international companies, rules are very strict, and everyone respects the system. Shameem notices that in Bangladesh, people often do not act professionally. Customers sometimes beg for urgent favors, and some even secretly swap real items for fake ones when returning a package. A real industry needs complete honesty and strong rules to grow.
"ঢুকতে তো ঢুকলেই কিন্তু রাস্তা ওপেন হয়ে যায়, এটা আমার আব্বা সবসময় বলতেন এবং আমিও বিলিভ করি যে ঢুকলেই রাস্তা খুলে যায়।"
Journey of Ahsan Shameem
Ahsan Shameem’s career in the delivery and logistics world started with a funny mistake.
After finishing his studies at Jagannath College, his first real job in 1998 was selling power machines, like voltage stabilizers, for a company called Vantage Group. He started with a small salary of 4,500 Taka. He worked very hard every day. He would walk up many stairs to hand out papers and talk to people. He always called his customers later to make sure their machines were working perfectly. Because he cared so much and followed up, he once got a huge order worth 6.5 lakh Taka!
Around the year 2000, while walking in Gulshan to sell machines, he saw a sign for “UPS.” He thought it was another company that sold power machines. But it was actually the United Parcel Service, a very big American delivery company.
He bravely asked them for a job and got it. This was the start of his true career in logistics.
At UPS, Shameem learned everything about how to safely move things from one place to another. During his training, he learned how to pack boxes, write delivery papers, and he even carried heavy boxes onto big cargo airplanes himself. He learned a very important rule there: a delivery person must treat every package with deep respect. You have to hold a package gently like a baby, and never, ever throw it.
Ahsan became a top worker. He brought in huge amounts of business because he believed in being honest and giving great service to a few good customers, rather than doing a bad job for many. His bosses saw his hard work and later sent him to Sri Lanka for special training so he could help start “Singapore Post” in Bangladesh. He built his successful life by starting at the bottom, learning every small detail of the hard work, and always taking great care of his customers.

We invited Ahsan Shameem
…because he holds a place almost no one else in Bangladesh’s delivery space can honestly claim: someone who took a widely misunderstood field – logistics and supply chain – and learned how to do it at a world-class level after mastering the strict rules of global leaders like UPS.
With over two decades of real, hands-on experience starting from the bottom, he has moved beyond just moving “trucks and boxes” to master the “smart technology and systems” that drive real delivery networks.
At a time when the local delivery industry is held back by bad habits, poor tracking and a lack of respect for the job, Ahsan offers something the market really needs – a clear, step-by-step guide for how a delivery business actually grows today. He brings top international standards to a place that often relies on guessing and shortcuts, giving clear and logical rules where there is usually only confusion.
